From Trash to Treasure

Turning a collection of old coins into a bohemian-inspired bracelet!

I've been collecting old coins from travel and random places for as long as I can remember, and they've done me no good except take up space in a box in my basement. So today, since the gloomy Chicago weather didn't inspire me to leave the house, my dad and I decided to finally make something out of some of my treasures: this fab bracelet!
The coins are all connected with sterling silver and feature different political figures from around the world (Queen Elizabeth, Confucious, Balboa). In my opinion, it fits in perfectly with some of the bohemian fashion craze going around this summer! I cant wait to wear it tonight!

With love,
Olivia G.

coin bracelet. Photos shown are my own.

"Lost and Found"

A Definite Fashion Don't!

Drew Barrymore may have found love again with on-again, off-again beau Justin Long, but she seems to have lost her sense of fashion.

Decked out in Marlin’s Baseball gear, Barrymore showed her team spirit, but with that outfit she may have just brought the team bad luck.

Pairing brightly colored blue, tie-die leggings with a two-toned, over sized green and blue t-shirt, and a tied up Marlin’s jersey, Barrymore was a walking fashion train wreck. Did we mention she had a shark hat on as well? Lol. This look even scored Barrymore a spot on the website http://www.thatshideous.com/, the name is somewhat self-explanatory and pictures speak 1000 words.

So Girls ,this just goes to show, just because you have a boyfriend does not mean you should give up on all efforts towards your personal appearance, please take some pride in yourself as a beautiful and (let's hope!) fashionable women.

Always honest,

UnveiledEdge's Undiscovered

Featured: Undiscovered Fashion Designer: Olivia Grzasko

Chicago turns out some of the most promising prodigies, take Barack Obama for example. And our very own, Olivia Grzasko, just 20-years-old, is well on her way to joining a handful of the greats bread out of Chi-town.

Grzasko has spent countless hours and nights designing, sewing and beading her own personal pieces inspired by the likes of Dita Von Teese. She is most known by those around her for her work in women’s apparel and one-of-a-kind dresses she designs (See bottom of post for pics).

In just her first year of college at Michigan State University, where she double majors in textile apparel and design and journalism, she competed in Michigan State’s very own Project Runway. The event was hosted and judged by Nick Verreos, a former “Project Runway,” contestant. Although, she did not place, Verreos was very impressed by the artistry of the only freshman competing in the competition.

In her sophomore year at MSU, Grzasko applied and got accepted into a one-year program at the prestigious fashion school in New York City, FIT. Here at UnveiledEdge, we are sure she will only become a greater talent than she already is because nothing will stop this one from making it to the top!

Grzasko is currently designing costumes in Chicago this summer and reporting on fashion topics including where to find great vintage from the "windy city," for UnveiledEdge, so make sure to keep up with what this up and coming designer has to say!

That's why this summer, I'm going to update this blog with tips on how to make the most of your vintage and thrift shopping experience, as well as let you guys in on where to shop for amazing stuff at fantastic prices here in Chicago! Consignment is all the rage!
